One evening while we were hard at work planning and organizing details for the 6th Annual Maker Faire NoVa, we realized we received a free box of over 250 spinners! The cool thing was, they were all blank and we wondered what would be a fun activity to not only promote the creativity of Makers but also encourage a hands-on activity during our Maker Celebration Party?
After a little brainstorming, we decided to decorate the blank spinners with colorful permanent markers. The activity worked out really well and soon enough, more folks became engaged once they realized the ink from the makers did not smear. Here’s one example of a prototype featuring the MAKE Magazine and Maker movement mascot, the only and only, Makey the Robot!
